Dalmia Cement Opposes Tax Assessment in Guwahati High Court
Dalmia Cement (North East) Limited has initiated legal action by filing a writ petition in the Guwahati High Court. This step comes in response to assessment orders issued by the National Faceless Assessment Center of the Income Tax Department related to the assessment years 2022-23 and 2023-24. The orders entail substantial demands of ₹55.56 crore and ₹53 crore, respectively.

The cement manufacturer contends that it was not granted a sufficient opportunity to present its case during the assessment proceedings. In an official regulatory filing, the company remarked, “Since the company was not afforded a proper opportunity to present its position during the proceedings, there was a clear breach of principles of natural justice.”
