Justice Chitra Venkataraman Joins Ramco as Non-Executive Independent Director

Ramco has confirmed the appointment of Justice Chitra Venkataraman (Retd.) as a Non-Executive Independent Director on the company’s Board. This decision, effective from March 25, 2025, through to March 24, 2030, was approved during a Board meeting held on the appointment date through a Special Resolution utilizing the Postal Ballot process.

Background of Justice Chitra Venkataraman

Justice Venkataraman brings extensive judicial experience, having served as a judge of the Madras High Court from 2005 until her retirement in April 2014. Her legal career includes serving as a government leader from 1991 to 1995 and a standing counsel for income tax for a decade following that. Additionally, she has held directorial positions as an Independent Director on the Boards of prominent companies such as LMW Limited, The Ramco Cements Limited, and Ramco Industries Limited. Currently, she also serves on the Board of Super Sales India Limited.

Reconstitution of the Audit Committee

With Justice Venkataraman’s appointment, Ramco has also restructured its Audit Committee. Alongside her, Justice P P S Janarthana Raja, a former judge of the Madras High Court, joins the committee, enhancing its expertise. Justice Janarthana Raja was initially appointed as an Additional Judge in December 2005 and became a Permanent Judge by April 2007.
