Meet Meghan Rivera
Today, we highlight Meghan Rivera, the operations coordinator for the College of Law, who has dedicated nearly nine years to UNL. Rivera’s commitment to enhancing the educational experience for students, faculty, and staff makes her an invaluable member of the campus community.
A Bit About Meghan
Originally from Lincoln, Rivera holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska at Kearney. Married for nearly a decade, she has three children ages 16, 12, and 6. Her interests include baking, crocheting, and immersing herself in historical literature, particularly regarding Tudor England.
Her Journey at UNL
Rivera has seen her role evolve over her nine years at the university. Initially starting as an office coordinator, she has advanced to the position of operations and resource coordinator, embracing new responsibilities along the way.

Workplace Motivation
Rivera expresses fulfillment in her daily interactions with supportive colleagues at the university. The collaborative environment fosters a culture of assistance, which is a source of motivation for her. Rivera enjoys tackling challenges, whether they involve coordinating student interviews or troubleshooting logistical issues related to events.

Among her cherished moments at UNL, Rivera recounts attending the Strengths Conference this past summer, where she connected with others passionate about personal and professional development. She also highlights the Mel Shinn Day picnic, a beloved annual event that unites faculty, staff, and students for a week of festivities.

When not at work, Rivera dedicates her time to family, engaging in outdoor activities during summer, and exploring new culinary creations. She also enjoys reading and is learning crocheting, appreciating the creative process involved.

While Rivera considers herself an open book, one lesser-known aspect is her enthusiasm for board games and card games, often leading to laughter and memorable moments with family and friends. Additionally, her passion for history transcends specific periods, encompassing interests from Ancient Rome to World War II.
