A South Carolina firm uniting private investigations, community supervision consulting, and reentry guidance under one dedicated team.

Behind every investigation lies a simple question: what actually happened? For Christian Aulbach, founder and principal advisor of ClearPath Advisors, finding answers begins with listening carefully, examining the evidence, and having the patience to look closer. That conviction, shaped by more than a decade inside South Carolina's law enforcement and community supervision systems, is the foundation of the firm he built.

A Career That Shaped a Firm

ClearPath Advisors is a South Carolina-based private investigative firm licensed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division. The firm serves clients throughout all 46 counties, offering thorough, dependable investigative support to attorneys, individuals and families, businesses, crime victims, and community organizations.

Founder Christian Aulbach is a 2010 graduate of John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in International Criminal Justice. His career spans state law enforcement, community supervision, and administrative adjudication. As a state law enforcement agent with the South Carolina Department of Probation, Parole and Pardon Services, he supervised traditional and specialized caseloads. He also oversaw Charleston County’s Top 10 Most Wanted Fugitive Apprehension Program, coordinating investigations across the country in partnership with local, state, and federal agencies. In 2018, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office recognized his efforts with a Special Recognition Award.

Aulbach also served on a strategic planning committee that developed a training program for new law enforcement recruits, later serving as a guest instructor at the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy. As an administrative hearings officer for the State of South Carolina, he presided over thousands of preliminary and final violation hearings and prepared written findings for Circuit Court judges and the South Carolina Board of Paroles and Pardons. That experience shapes ClearPath’s emphasis on careful investigation, sound judgment, and clear, well-supported findings.

“Experience teaches you to ask the right questions. Judgment means having the discipline to follow the facts and the integrity to change your conclusions when the facts demand it,” Aulbach says. “When someone’s freedom or future is at stake, assumptions are not enough. That responsibility shaped my career, and it defines our work at ClearPath.”

Three Focus Areas, One Dedicated Team

Private investigations are at the core of ClearPath’s work, encompassing background investigations, surveillance, people location, witness interviews, and detailed review of case files, records, and evidence. The firm builds on that foundation with two specialized services: community supervision consulting and reentry education and guidance. Together, these focus areas draw on the team’s investigative experience and firsthand understanding of supervision systems to help clients find answers, navigate challenges, and make informed decisions.

Through community supervision consulting, ClearPath helps attorneys examine alleged violations, review case documentation, and assess department policies, procedures, and actions taken in individual matters. The firm also helps community organizations strengthen programs and train staff to better support individuals on supervision. Its reentry education and guidance services help individuals and families understand supervision requirements, address barriers, and prepare for successful completion.

“After years working within the supervision system, I’ve seen how difficult it can be to meet expectations without clear guidance and access to the right resources,” Aulbach says. “Understanding supervision conditions is one part of the equation. Finding substance use treatment, mental health care, and other community support can be just as critical. At ClearPath, we help individuals and families understand their responsibilities, identify resources, and build a practical path toward successful completion.”

The Boutique Difference

At ClearPath, boutique means direct access to the people doing the work and accountability at every stage. From the initial consultation through the final report or guidance session, clients work with a South Carolina-based team that understands their concerns, keeps them informed, and remains personally invested in their matter.

ClearPath handles its investigations in-house, without outsourcing assignments or relying on third-party contractors. The team entrusted with a client’s concerns carries that responsibility through the investigative plan, the follow-up questions, and the final findings. That continuity gives clients something essential: confidence in who is doing the work and who stands behind it.

“When clients trust us with a matter, they deserve direct access to the people responsible for the work,” Aulbach says. “Our own team handles every investigation from beginning to end. We know the case, we answer the questions, and we stand behind our findings.”

That accountability extends to how the firm evaluates evidence and reports its findings. “A report is only as strong as the work behind it,” Aulbach says. “Every conclusion needs a factual foundation. Every unanswered question needs to be acknowledged. Our clients deserve to know what we established, how we established it, and where uncertainty remains.”

Credentials That Build Confidence

ClearPath Advisors is licensed by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division, is a Better Business Bureau Accredited Business, and holds membership in the South Carolina Association of Legal Investigators (SCALI). The firm emphasizes ethical conduct, professional development, and accountability across its investigative, consulting, and educational services.

Its guiding philosophy—Facts. Insight. Solutions.—reflects that approach: establish the facts, explain their significance, and help clients identify practical next steps.

Why It Matters

An unanswered question can affect an individual’s future, a family’s peace of mind, an attorney’s strategy, or a business’s next decision. For people navigating the justice and supervision systems, unclear requirements or overlooked information can carry lasting consequences. ClearPath helps clients address those uncertainties through thorough investigations, informed consulting, and practical education.

That purpose is personal for Aulbach. His career has shown him how decisions affect lives—and how much depends on the quality of the information and guidance available. ClearPath brings that experience to clients across all 46 South Carolina counties, including communities beyond the state’s major cities.

“People come to us because something important is unresolved,” Aulbach says. “They deserve a team that listens, asks the right questions, and takes their concerns seriously. Whether we’re investigating a matter or helping someone navigate supervision, our responsibility is to give them a clearer understanding of where they stand and how they can move forward.”

Partner With ClearPath Advisors

Whether assisting an attorney building a case, an individual or family seeking answers, a business protecting its interests, or an organization supporting people on supervision, ClearPath Advisors brings experience, discretion, and personal attention to each engagement. Its South Carolina-based team remains directly involved from the first conversation through the final findings, consultation, or educational session.

Those seeking investigative support, community supervision consulting, or reentry education can contact the firm for an initial consultation. Each engagement begins with understanding the client’s concerns, identifying their goals, and determining how ClearPath can help them move forward—an approach reflected in the firm’s guiding philosophy: Facts. Insight. Solutions.
